How and why to embrace the colour pink this season
In the pink
Historically, pink has often been associated with femininity, delicate beauty, and softness. Fashion designer, Elsa Schiaparelli placed pink firmly on the fashion circuit back in the late 1930s with her introduction of shocking pink, dubbed 'Schiaparelli Pink', inspired by the Surrealist art movement. Then came the 1957 film, Funny Face, where Audrey Hepburn and Kay Thompson inspired us to Think Pink! Since then, the colour has continually been reimagined year after year on the catwalk.
While the resurgence of Barbie pink in more recent times gave us a pleasing sense of nostalgia, this season, the colour takes on a grown-up sophistication. Evoking calmness, tranquility and refined femininity, pink shows its softer side for SS25. Our in-house design team have looked at introducing a mix hues this season, from a light Quartz to the more romantic Deep Rose and Rosé, all inspired by flowers in bloom at Kew Gardens and captivating sunsets. These were also chosen for their versatility, as softer pinks tend to have a longer life cycle in fashion. But how to wear them? We've curated three easy ways to inject this colour into your look.
