Our leather and suede is sourced from some of the world’s finest tanneries. But even the very best materials require the right care. The key to quality and longevity? Looking after it the right way, so you can wear your Jigsaw pieces for years to come – and eventually pass them down to the people you love most. Here’s how to take care of your leather and suede pieces the right way.
Rule 1
Cleaning
Leather and suede should never washed. Wipe down with a clean, slightly damp cloth for everyday marks, and use a specialised leather or suede cleaner to buff out tougher stains. Avoid soaking or using household cleaning products. If an overall refresh is needed, consider specialist cleaner with knowledge of leather and suede care.
Rule 2
Drying
To maintain your leather’s original appearance, we recommend against over exposure to water, light and heat. If your leather becomes wet, absorb excess liquid by dabbing gently with a soft cloth and allow to dry at room temperature.
Rule 3
Care
Keep your leather and suede out of direct sunlight to avoid fading and cracking. If your pieces do get scratched, apply a leather or suede nourisher to the affected areas using a dry cloth. Make sure to keep them away from greasy substances, perfumes and cosmetics. Applying a waterproof spray to your suede can help prevent damage and staining.
Rule 4
Storing
Storing your leather and suede well can really help it last. Always store in a cool and dry place, ideally in a breathable cotton bag to avoid trapped moisture. Use padded hangers and shoe trees to help maintain the shape of your jackets and shoes.
