Silk Care Guide

Silk is a delicate, naturally luxurious fibre that rewards gentle handling. Follow a few considered steps, and it’ll keep its softness, shape and shine for years to come.

Rule 1

Cleaning

Silk should never go near a washing machine, and we’d steer you away from hand washing it too. Always dry clean silk garments. It’s the only way to properly protect both colour and texture, and to keep that natural sheen intact.

Rule 2

Drying

Because silk is dry clean only, there’s no home-drying step to worry about. If a piece needs a quick refresh between wears, a gentle steam held a few centimetres from the fabric is far kinder than heat from an iron, letting gravity smooth things out naturally.

Rule 3

Care

Keep silk away from perfume, deodorant and rougher fabrics, as its delicate surface can mark or snag easily. Direct sunlight will weaken and fade the fibre over time, so it’s worth being mindful of where you wear and store it.

Rule 4

Storing

Store silk on a padded or shaped hanger to help it hold its beautiful drape, in a cool, dry wardrobe away from direct sunlight. Delicate separates are best folded flat rather than hung, so they don’t stretch out of shape.
