For 50 years, Jigsaw has collaborated with talented creators and sourced beautiful materials from around the world. We believe celebrating craft, authenticity and integrity of design is as relevant today as it was in 1970, when we began our journey. We continue our Creators series with British Artist and Fashion Designer, Janet Lance Hughes, who led the Central Saint Martins Fashion, Design and Marketing course at CSM for over 15 years. She continues to inspire future generations of Creators.
We asked her about the inspiration behind the unique hand-painted prints she has created for our Autumn/Winter 2021 collection.
It was lovely to transport the essence of my mysterious garden into drawings and paintings which your team so brilliantly turned into such glowing and beautiful clothes. I think the print/shape combo has touched people’s desire for natural deep dreamland in their lives, a chance to believe in natural things, which we few are so devoted to keeping and looking after for the future.
