The western trend has been bubbling under the surface for the last few seasons. This Autumn Winter it comes into full force with cowboy boots being the footwear of choice on many catwalks and influencer feet. Pointed, pull-on, with an inverted heel, our Hjorth cowboy boots in navy or green croc are your winter boot update. We talk to Izzie Hardy, our Social Media and Content Coordinator, about how to wear cowboy boots, boots and what to wear cowboy boots with, without a fringed denim skirt in sight.
With Mini Skirts
Give the cowboy boot centre stage with a mini length. If you search ‘how to wear cowboy boots’ on Pinterest, chances are you’ll find outfits with cut-off shorts and denim mini skirts, which are a bit too close to fancy dress for my liking. However, a patent leather mini skirt is the ideal alternative. It elevates the cowboy boots with its statement sheen and its mini length means you can fully show off the boots. Paired with a cosy cardigan, I’d wear this to after-work drinks or dinner with friends.
With Maxi Dresses
A key look for Autumn Winter, a maxi dress is the perfect partner to a cowboy boot. Peeping out from the bottom of a flowing, feminine skirt, it is just the juxtaposition of styles that I like to inject into my wardrobe. Versatile yet bold, it is easy to dress up with some silver jewellery and minimal accessories. I’m actually going to a wedding in a field next week and it's this kind of look I plan to wear. Perfect for now, I know it will transition well into the winter months, layered under a chunky knit and a wrap coat. Wool tights, weather dependent.
With Wide Leg Jeans
For an everyday approach, I’m styling cowboy boots with wide leg jeans. Cropped in length, the jeans skim the top of the cowboy boots, allowing them to be seen without being the focal point of the whole look. Tucking in a snug jumper, the chunky not-too-high heel means I could wear this all day for shopping in London or on a cold winter city break.
