About Jigsaw Stories

Everyone has a story to tell and our team members have fascinating ones to tell, interwoven with the Jigsaw wardrobe pieces that have defined them.

Tell us your story

I'm a city girl that moved to the country five years ago with my partner, John to renovate our now complete cottage, accruing Shetland ponies, chickens and cats in the process! As well as gardening, I love to root about antique fairs. The cottage now features one of my favourite finds; a shocking pink sofa which clashes beautifully with all our finds.

How did your path first cross with Jigsaw?

Jigsaw Glasgow in 1996 was my go-to shop when I had a (rare) Saturday off from my job in retail. Sally the Store Manager inspired me with her style and passion for the business. I was currently Store Manager of Levi’s and dreamt of coming out of denim and wearing floaty feminine dresses. I wrote a cheeky letter (no emails then) to Jigsaw’s HR team which said ‘If you ever consider opening in Edinburgh, I should be your Manager’. 1998 came along and a letter appeared offering me an interview for Store Manager. Two interviews later, they chose me out of 150 applicants and the rest is history.

My position has been integral in store openings across the North - even as far as Japan, with a store in Harajuku and eight concessions within Mauri department stores! As well as a string of awards, I have also made lifelong friends.

Your most cherished Jigsaw pieces

I have acquired the most amazing wardrobe in my time at Jigsaw. My current go-to piece is the new soft padded crossbody bag in red – I LOVE it. This bag can be seen walking down George Street, Edinburgh perched on my wrist.

What Jigsaw means to you

Jigsaw has been 27 years of my life and so has shaped me as a person, giving me opportunity and confidence to step out of my comfort zone, acquire new skills and live my dream.
