How to dress for wedding season

Our copywriter, Josie picks her top occasionwear looks from the Spring Summer collection. From dresses and accessories to jumpsuits and wrap tops. Your wedding outfits, sorted.

I’ve got four weddings this year. Four weddings and a festival. And while the looks for the latter can be thrown together in a matter of minutes (frayed jeans, miniskirts, ankle boots and cotton tees: explore our holiday shop for inspiration), wedding outfits need a little more attention. First, there’s the question of location. Just how many grassy—and let’s face it, muddy—fields will you have to navigate? How cool and free spirited is the couple in question? Read: just how bold and short can you go with your wedding outfit? What are the bridesmaids wearing? What’s the general aesthetic? What’s the colour of that suit your plus one is going to be wearing to ALL of them? It’s a minefield. But with a deep breath, a browse through our selection of wedding guest outfits and dresses, and a handful of resin earrings and gold rings, I’m just about RSVP ready. Here’s how to dress for wedding season. Bring on the canapes.

For the laidback wedding

You know the type of wedding I’m talking about here. Sliders and cocktails and hay bales and jukebox playlists. This is a laidback, super cool couple and they want you to know it. A classic floral dress just won’t do. Opt instead for our modern Fuchsia Trees print in a kimono style wrap top and matching trouser for your wedding outfit. Relaxed and shot through with contemporary polka dots at the cuff and hem; team with mules and a statement hoop.

For the country wedding

Churches, stately homes and country barns, on the other hand, are the natural habitats of floral occasionwear dresses. Cut in stunning silk and a super feminine shape, this hibiscus print dress is made for teaming with champagne, confetti and happy tears. Wear with simple gold jewellery and let the print do the talking.

For the destination wedding

This playful, summery jumpsuit is a bursting with surprises. Printed in an exclusive graphic weave pattern and finished with a knot halter neckline, cropped length and rope belt, it’s ideal for a destination wedding backdrop. Think Greece, Spain, Italy. Sunshine will be mandatory.

For the city wedding

A personal favourite, this luxe A by Jigsaw zig zag dress is inspired by 1960s psychedelia. Perfect for bright lights, loud music and city rooftops, ditch the wedding hat and lean towards vibrant tassel earrings to frame your face instead. Matching strappy, block heel sandals make for summery, yet comfortable footwear that will have you dancing all night long.
