What time of day do you feel most inspired?

Early morning! I’m a morning lark. My alarm goes off at 5am every day — I love starting the day early and it’s definitely when I feel most productive and inspired.

What are your goals for 2018?

Less time online. More water. Read more books. Run the Paris marathon.

What does health and fitness mean to you? How do you measure it?

Health and fitness is a state of mind. It’s how you feel; the highs and the lows, the energy, the endorphins, the optimism it gives you.

We’re all feeling the January blues at the moment. What are your tips for getting motivated in the New Year?

Take it easy. Don’t set unrealistic goals. Ride the waves of emotions and live for the endorphin highs. No-one EVER finished a workout and said ‘I wish I didn’t do that’. Keep that etched in your brain!

How do you personally give yourself a boost after taking a break from exercise or being a little too indulgent?

There’s no doubt exercise is a habit thing and even for someone who loves exercise, getting back into the routine of the gym makes my eyes roll a little post-Christmas.

Try get up and get it done in the morning — you’re more likely to find reasons to put it off if you leave it to the end of the day. And get a friend to go with you to your first session/ class/ run. It will make it easier and who knows, you might even have some fun.

What’s your favourite healthy recipe?

My healthy banana bread is pretty special and perfect breakfast fuel! My new altered recipe swaps out the butter for coconut oil and adds in apricots — but it’s the same otherwise! I make it every weekend.

What do you think is the best way to stay active in the city?

I really love urban running and for me, running is the easiest and most convenient way to keep fit. You can run at the weekend in the park, you can run to work, you can lap the park on your lunch break. It’s the thing that I find easiest to fit into a schedule and gives me the most freedom.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Prosecco! BIG fan. And I love chunky pub chips.

How would you describe your personal style?

Low key and practical. A loose t-shirt, straight leg jeans and a kitten heel is my go-to office look. Something that easily goes in my gym bag and doesn’t crease. I’m rarely with an iron!

Jigsaw’s new sports luxe collection is all about being comfortably stylish. Do you have a favourite piece?

I love the quilted jumper. It’s so easy to throw on over leggings and a sports bra, and would look good under a blazer or coat too. Definitely an easy outfit for running errands after the gym.

What are your key tips for someone just getting in to health and fitness?

  • At least you’re doing it. And you’re going to feel SO much for it.
  • Be determined. Set your mind to it and don’t give up. You’ll be impressed with your journey when you stop to look back.
  • Everyone starts somewhere. When I first started out running I’d go out for 20 minutes doing a minute running a minute walking, and did that for a good 6 months before I pushed myself to 2km, then 3km and so on. I didn’t in my wildest dreams think I would ever run a 10km, let alone a marathon.

What would you do with a completely free day?

A dream day for me looks like a leisurely morning run listening to The High Low, brunch (ideally at Pedlar in Peckham – it’s my fave), then exploring, followed by drinks. No day isn’t improved with Prosecco!
